In the process of cashmere factory shearing, the belly hair is first cut off and collected separately. The short hair, dirty buttocks hair, heavy sheared hair and the secondary hair, dirty hair and fecal dirty hair on the legs and head are respectively picked out, so that the covering hair does not contain inferior wool. Then the coat is thrown on a rib platform, and the edge of the coat is removed to remove other kinds of spots (felt and part of the wool, high grass and miscellaneous wool, ring sheep mark wool, etc.), and the stained wool and very short wool are picked out. During the process of this work, due to the shaking of the coat, the loose wool and heavy wool adhering to the coat fall from the seam of the platform and on the ground It's collected, and the broom of the shearing ground is packed with it.
Lamb wool and second cut wool are pretreated in the same way, but they can not be thrown to the rib table due to short length and insufficient cohesion between fibers.
Once the fleece has been sorted by the primary wool grader, it can be packed. For hybrid wool, the wool grading work is usually to sort discolored wool, overlong wool, short wool or weak knot wool, so as to keep the wool quality uniform. The fineness of wool is not always concerned, because the fineness of coarse wool in the same sheep has little variation, and the wool diameter has little effect on the price of coarse wool. Lambs and shears are usually classified only by whiteness and length.
Wool under 33 microns (Merino, semi pure and coryday) is usually graded by a registered grader. This kind of wool is first classified by fineness, and then classified by length, strength, color or important defects.
Next comes the wool pack, which weighs between 100 and 200 kg (currently, the average weight is about 160-180 kg / pack). In the past, New Zealand wool bags had a separate cover that was sewn with an approved strand. Since 1990 / 91, the package without cover has been widely used. This kind of wool bag has an extra long bag edge, which is used for folding to cover the bag mouth, and then fixed with several metal clips. Since 1994, it has been compulsory for all wool exported from New Zealand to use this kind of package without cover.
The bales are usually made of polyethylene woven fabric and must meet the specifications set by the New Zealand wool authority. Each wool bag must be printed or labeled to indicate its wool bag number, farm mark and wool category. Prepare the specifications of the wool bags into a table for transport to the warehouse of the wool broker or storage on the farm for later sale to the private merchant.
At this time, the main wool is directly sent to the dryer, and the zero time wool or short wool may be cleaned for a second time to remove excessive depilatory agent. After drying, the grey hair will go into the wool warehouse and be packed into a traditional wool bag. The outside of the wool bag is painted with a mark indicating the grade and the mark of the manufacturer.
Although greying has been cleaned, they still have to go through the wool washing process to remove lanolin and residual hair remover.
